Faith Updates covid-19: day 57 | US: GA | info | act

Wikipedia-stock.jpg

As part of the creation of The Faith of Graffiti on Wikipedia, we submitted it for consideration as a Good Article (GA). An editor recently contacted me (and the rest of my graduate students) with observations. S/he was complimentary, but read the article carefully, and had some questions and suggestions. I was finally able to get to them today.

This took most of the day, and it was real work. I liked it. I’m not sure why, but I find writing for Wikipedia to be very satisfying. Most corrections were fairly easy, something needing to be clarified, copy-edited, or revised. For some I needed to rewrite or actually go to the sources. Yet, when I finished, I felt like I had accomplished something.

I’m thinking about doing this again, maybe for “The Man Who Studied Yoga” or The Short Fiction of Norman Mailer. Ideally, this should be done for all Mailer articles—especially his own. That will take some work.
