I made some more home network changes. I updated and switched the ports on my Nextcloud install, and it seems to be working well. I installed a web server on my new Pi, and I’m looking forward to playing more with that. So far, only
[http://grlucas.com/ grlucas.com]
is pointed there. Finally, I installed [https://www.pivpn.io/ PiVPN] on my PiHole. It was easy and works well, though I don’t really know when I’ll be able to test it on my Mac. Setup was easy, and it should secure my home network a bit more, since I can now close some open ports. | I made some more home network changes. Today is beautiful. I completed another 5K, then attended a 45-minute OTF at-home workout. I might have overdone it a bit, but I had to suffer a bit for the pizza I ate yesterday.
I’m reading Sophie Treadwell’s Machinal for Modern Drama this week. It’s an impressionistic play that reminds me of Metropolis in its style—like mechanized surrealism. I can’t help but think Treadwell may have been influenced by Lang’s film. It’s difficult not to feel sympathy for the Young Woman as social forces (de)construct her and eventually condemn her. Is it possible to resist becoming a machine when everything around you is mechanized?
I made some more home network changes. I updated and switched the ports on my Nextcloud install, and it seems to be working well. I installed a web server on my new Pi, and I’m looking forward to playing more with that. So far, only grlucas.com
is pointed there. Finally, I installed PiVPN on my PiHole. It was easy and works well, though I don’t really know when I’ll be able to test it on my Mac. Setup was easy, and it should secure my home network a bit more, since I can now close some open ports.
We ended today with some grilled meat on the Big Green Egg—bacon-wrapped filets and garden sausage from a local farm. We had left-over ziti and roasted Brussels sprouts. All good.
