Sick Again

Yesterday, I had a follow-up appointment with my general practitioner for two reasons: to check my cholesterol levels and to get the second shingles shot. Well, my cholesterol is down slightly, but it is still high, so I have to make some diet changes. I feel this is something I can do without too much of a problem. They recommended taking 25 grams of fiber a day, which seems about three times what I have been taking, so that will be fun.

The second shingles shot has kicked my ass. I ache all over, especially in my head and the place on my upper-left arm where the needle jabbed me. I got the shivers in the middle of the night and had mostly restive sleep. I got up a little while ago, and I have tried to grade some essays, but I feel about as connected as a coastal fog. I have an important meeting at 14:00 today, so I hope to feel a bit better by then. Autumn gave me a cracker and a Tylenol this morning before I went back to sleep.

I have a lot to do, but maybe I need to take the day off.
