Lunch & a Short Stroll

Giles and I got together downtown for lunch and to chat about projects and photography. We also commiserated about our first-world woes. Giles and I have been friends for about 30 years now, having met through David, our mutual friend. We have may interests in common, but I think the first was our enthusiasm for Apple. We even toyed with a local company, MacTampa, that I still think could have gone somewhere if I hadn’t been preoccupied with graduate school. What was I thinking? We later realized we had much more in common, and we’ve been friends ever since.

Giles is always good to have a meal with. Often, like today, we turned that into a little photo stroll around the block in downtown Macon. I took a few images that are decent, but the portrait of Giles is probably my favorite. I think this just shows that I’m best at photographing people.

My thanks to Giles for being a generous soul—he’s probably the only one who reads this journal. He patiently endured my grousing over lunch and still wanted to hang out. I appreciate it, man. Oh, and here’s to hopefully keeping the SL in the family.
