Halloween Prep
Before piano lessons, Henry was playing with a dinosaur head he got somewhere. I thought a photo or two would be fun, and he agreed. The Leica M8 was still wearing the Canon 1.4/50 LTM, but I switched it out for the Ultron 2/28 after a couple of shots.
Autumn loves this shot, and I’m happy with it. At times like this, I miss the Pentax 67 and the medium-format look, but the “Japanese Summilux” is no slouch.
Check out the small gallery. The latter three images are using the Ultron.
This afternoon, I missed buying a 40mm Summicron I’d been watching on eBay. It sold for $412—an excellent price for this lens. I just couldn’t bring myself to bid, as I already have two excellent Summicrons, a 35mm and a 50mm, that seem to make a 40mm redundant. I figure if I want the Leica Summicron look, I can get that with what I have. I think I still want to replace my Nokton Classic 1.4/40, though. Even though the M8 does not have 40mm frame lines, its focal length would be equivalent to ~53mm. As long as the Nokton brings up the 50mm frame lines, I’ll be good.
