It’s cold and rainy and gray. Perfect weather for photography 😒 —as Henry would say, “that’s a bit of sarcasm.” Nevertheless, I grabbed the Rotolight and joined Henry outside for five minutes.
The color was boosted a bit, but this is pretty nice. Yes, that’s a leaf in his hair. He was throwing up leaves like confetti, but I didn’t like any of those shots, as I didn’t get the focus right. I think the reason for this is that the focus ring and aperture rings are reversed. Dang Russians.
For these two, the Rotolight is camera-left. Both are at f/2.
The lens is sharp, when I finally nail the focus. The colors and bokeh are also nice. The lens is longer than I expect, so when I took this next shot last night, it was much tighter than I thought it would be. I guess I’ve been using the 35mm lens a long time.
In case it’s not obvious, they’re looking at Henry’s Chromebook. I like the play of light in this photo, and it works well in black and white.

Today is Timmy’s birthday. I can’t think he’s in much of a good mood (confirmed on Instagram), as yesterday was the year anniversary of Neil Peart’s passing, ’Rump has finally “conceded,” and Georgia is pretty blue on the federal level. These are all things that he does not like. He’s also still mad at me, probably. We still have not communicated since I pissed him off. I texted him a birthday wish, which went unacknowledged.
I wish you well, Tim. And I’m happy to discuss these things that keep us apart whenever you are.
Finally, here are some memes from the last two days.
