Writing Center covid-19: day 522 | US: GA | info | act

noframe

Today was my first day in the Writing Center on campus, and I had the privilege of helping the semester’s first client. I think it went pretty well, and I’m looking forward to my time in the WC this semester.

My heart goes out to the women and girls of Afghanistan who will once again be victims of a medieval, religious, patriarchal morality. I wish we could have brought them all to the US. The whole scene is just terrible. We must continue to resist similar forces in this country and the rest of the world and stop with these useless wars.

My ENGL 1102 students are signing up for their LitWiki accounts, and we listened to and discussed The Smiths’ “Girlfriend in a Coma” in class. We had a great discussion, and I was pleased that many of them picked up on the nuances of the song right away.
