Some Ultron Shots covid-19: day 316 | US: GA | info | act

The day was cold, but sunny. Henry wanted to stay outside a bit after school, so I grabbed the SL with the Ultron 1.8/21. I hadn’t worn it in a bit, so this seemed like a good time. I must say, again, that this is such a great lens. I love the speed and the wide area it encompasses, like a photographic god’s eye taking in the wide world.

Look at the loveliness. I love the color and the nice 3-D quality that even the f/1.8 gives. Here are a couple more:

The lens forces me to get down low; I really like the perspective I’m able to achieve—even above Henry on the last shot. He was pretty patient today, too.

I thought, too, while he was out there, that I would try a couple with the fungus-infested Zuiko 1.4/50.

Not too bad. I think, too, once it’s cleaned up, it will look even better—if I keep it. The seller is being recalcitrant—his feelings are hurt that I don’t think his photos or descriptions were accurate. He also seems very confident that if eBay gets involved, they will side with him. Maybe. I’m not even sure what that would entail: tough shit for me? I don’t think so: not according to their money-back guarantee. However, his blasé attitude makes me think he’s well experienced with this sort of thing. I sent back a final offer that he’s likely to refuse, so we may just find out.

This has kind of stayed my enthusiasm for lens shopping. Maybe this is a good thing?
