Ride to Augusta

Hot. The ride was hot. I guess it could have been worse, but I almost turned around at one point, thinking it’s just too much. I remember, years ago, riding the R 1150 R from Dad’s house east of Knoxville to Louisville, KY, in the rain thinking, I could be in a comfortable car right now. With air conditioning. I had similar thoughts today, though this heat was not as bad as the continuous torrents I rode though in Kentucky a few years back. In fact, I haven’t even taken the new Accord on a trip yet. Still, I pressed on. It was a long 120 miles, and I have double that to ride tomorrow. I hope I didn’t make a mistake. What’s the point in having a BMW R 1200 GS if I’m not going to ride it?

Excelsior!

Spent the evening with Todd, which is always a good time. It was good to catch up and talk shop and drink some Basil Hayden.
