Norman Mailer in Context covid-19: day 516 | US: GA | info | act
Well here’s some good news: Norman Mailer in Context has been printed and is being distributed now. It’s been a while in making, as the best things are, but the new collection should be out this month, including my chapter on the political resonance. The price is a bit steep at $110, but it’s targeting libraries, and it will have a niche market among academics. Still, it’s rewarding to see the work of Norman Mailer Society members and editor and president Maggie McKinley come to fruition. This marks the first in a Mailer Renaissance in the next couple of years.
This reminds me: a couple of weeks ago, I was invited by Mike Lennon and Phil Sipiora to be a member of the The Mailer Review’s Editorial Board beginning immediately. Of course I accepted, and I am proud to serve. Thank you, gentlemen, for the honor and the faith you have in me.
