Monday’s are like Eliot’s April: cruel. Today, I gave two exams. I’m not a big fan of exams, but at least students understand them: they are pretty cut and dry, and they give a definitive idea about student progress. My problem is this: what if everyone does poorly? Is it my fault as the exam writer? Did I not cover the material well enough in class? Did they just not understand it? Are they doing the work? What do I do now? Fortunately, I am a big fan of rewrites.

Today, we have some photos from my baby album, page 8. I just have one question: who’s that other kid?
