Ask
A friend of mine asked, “Are you paying attention?” I was looking at the ceiling; I should have looked at your face instead. Too much to pay attention to. Big dicks in Iraq and in the White House; DRM and the RIAA; ideology over the body. I guess I should be happy I got up this morning.
I had a good workout today. There's something about exercise that can melt away anxiety. I know. I never thought I would be one of those people, but I have to say: since I began working out again regularly at the beginning of this semester (yes, I'm a college professor, so I count the semester as the defining time chunk in my life), I have felt good. Content almost. I wouldn't go so far as to say happy, but . . . at ease. Try it.
