Day 3: Hampton Court & Windsor
Sunday means a bus trip to Hampton Court and then to Windsor. We had a couple of hours to spend at each one, and the program was good enough to pay our way into Hampton Court.
I last visited Hampton Court about ten years ago, but it was during the winter. I was glad to get back to see the splendid gardens in the summer. The day started off a bit overcast, but I did manage to get some pictures after the clouds dispersed. Since we didn’t have that much time, I think we raced through most of the palace, but I managed to get a few photos.
I’d never been to the palace at Windsor before: it was impressive. Again, time was limited, so I did not go into the palace, just photographed it from the outside. I talked to A afterwards, and she agreed we could go back when she gets here next month for a tour of the inside.
This was a great day and the perfect end to the weekend. Classes started the next day, and those went well. I seem to have two pretty good groups. Next up: some photos from my impromptu walk on Tuesday to Westminster. I think I’m going to be playing catch-up for the whole summer.
