Travel Day

What a day! We finally made it to our Vrbo rental after a long day of travel. Most of it was pretty smooth, but the last mile was the big headache. Part of the Blue Line in Chicago is down for repairs or upgrades or something, so our subway ride ended a couple of miles from our rental. After a bus ride and a walk through a sort of no-man’s land, we finally made it.

All day was go go go. By the time we arrived, we were all pretty cranky and hungry. I wanted a drink. Or five. There didn’t seem to be much around the rental (figures), but I went out scouting. I found Raymond’s Tacos—a divvy-looking place that I almost decided against, but I’m glad I didn’t. The food was inexpensive and delicious. I also procured us some other supplies at Pete’s Fresh Market before returning to the rental and chilling.

Tomorrow, we’re going to try to get back downtown to see some of Chicago. Saturday is the Peter Gabriel concert.
