Jewboy Burgers

Today for lunch, I walked to Jewboy Burgers. It was a fairly pleasant walk, just over a mile north-east of where I’m staying. The reviews are good and one of my favorite places in Austin is Jewboy Cantina, so I thought this would be good, too. I got the original Jewboy Burger, tots, and a side of queso. The burger was good, though I’m not much of a mustard fan. I probably could have ordered it without, but I like to try items the way they are offered, first. The bun was super soft, and the burger was pretty good—not the best I’ve ever had, though. The tots were nice and crispy, and the queso came with hatch chiles mixed in—excellent on the tots. For dinner, I got a Puro Picadillo burrito to eat later. It, too, was tasty, and had plenty of beef and cheese, but I wish it had had more green chiles and latkes. Worth the trip, but I’ll stick with the cantina.

I spent the rest of the day reading and watching DIY speaker builds on YouTube. I would love to learn woodworking. Building cool stuff out of wood with my hands seems so rewarding—especially custom and bespoke speakers. This guy not only has great videos, but build-plans for purchase. How cool would it be to try? Crossover design and construction is also part of his plans. Back when I lived in Palmetto, FL, I refinished a few pieces of furniture. I fell in love with the process, and I bet I’d like building speakers even more, like these single-driver, full-range bookshelf.
