This schedule represents the ideal outline for our study this semester. Yet, like all best-laid plans, we may not be able to keep up with our agenda. Please be flexible and try to look and read ahead whenever possible.

We will do our best to stick by this schedule, but I will inform you verbally, via an email, and/or a literal change to the schedule below whenever there is a deviation. Getting these updates is solely your responsibility. Therefore, this schedule is tentative and subject to change contingent upon the needs of the students and the professor, and dictated by time and other constraints which may affect the course. For face-to-face classes, this schedule reflects only an overview of the assigned reading and other major course assignments. It may not indicate specific class session assignments or activities. Specific in-class assignments may not be reflected on the schedule.

Directions: For each lesson, follow the links and the assignments. Each week will have a lesson on writing and wiki training for your collaborative wiki project. Be sure you complete both before the due dates.

 note: Some of the readings include exercises; only complete the exercises if they are explicitly assigned.

1	Oct 4–10	Course Orientation  note: It is imperative that you have this orientation by the end of the first week of class. Failure to do so will have you reported as a no-show, and the Registrar will remove you from the roll. Read the syllabus carefully. Email any questions this week. Register for a LitWiki account. Be sure to activate it so that you can edit pages by verifying your email. Register for the course blog. (You will receive an invite after you request a LitWiki account.) Review the course requirements, especially the Collaborative Wiki Project on Technical Writing in the Digital Age. All wiki training will support this project.
		Intro to Technical Writing, Web Literacy & Wikipedia Lesson 1: Understanding Technical Writing in the Digital Age. 1: Introduction to Wikipedia and MediaWiki. Read my feedback for this lesson.
2	Oct 11–17	Digital Literacy and Skills Lesson 2: Digital Literacy and Skills. 2: Wikipedia’s Core Principles. Read my feedback for this lesson.
3	Oct 18–24	Digital Writing Style Lesson 3: Style and Tone in Digital Writing. 3: Collaborative Writing and Wiki Markup. Read my feedback for this lesson.
4	Oct 25–31	Remediation Lesson 4: Digital Documents and Remediation. 5: Sourcing and Citations. Read my feedback for this lesson.
5	Nov 01–07	Design and Users Lesson 5: User-Centered Design and Information Architecture. 4: Writing with a Neutral Point of View (NPOV).
6	Nov 08–14	Usability Lesson 6: Usability, Accessibility, and SEO. 6: Talk Pages and Collaboration.
7	Nov 15–28	Reflection and Revision Lesson 7: Citing Sources and Effective Use of Links. 7: Creating a Wikipedia Article.
8	Dec 1	Wrap Up  note: Read my final announcement. Collaborative project and final journal posts due.
