Morning Ride

The landscape reminded me of Portugal. The trees don’t get too high, but come right up to the road. The roads are twisty and snake through the hills, following the outline of the Colorado River. I saw quite a few other motorcycles, mostly sport bikes, winding their way along the road, and while I wouldn’t call it crowded, there were definitely folks taking advantage of a sunny day. The BMW R 1200 GS seemed to like stretching it legs after a few weeks of being idle.

I decided to finally take a ride west of Austin. This is probably my last opportunity, as I’ll be leaving for Macon in a week. While the ride was nothing spectacular, I’m glad I decided to do it. I find this route with a Google search, and it looked exactly like the kind of thing I’d like for a Sunday morning that was getting hotter by the minute. With the loop, I rode about 50 miles, and that was plenty for the day. I started earlyish and was back before lunch.
