Gold Note Installed
This morning I took the new DAC over to Giles’ to plug it into the system. It took a minute to set it up, however; the WiFi configuration was not as straightforward as it should have been, but we managed it. Unfortunately, the WAN was down, and I could only listen to a couple of songs—not really enough to judge the upgrade. Now worries: there will be other opportunities. Giles tells me that the Internet connection was restored by 16:00, and he listened for the rest of the day and into the evening. His comment: “Sir, you have a winner here.” I can’t wait to listen.
While I’m on the subject: we put flags in the backyard where the Sound Shed will go. These are needed for 811 to let me know if the construction workers have to avoid anything important. I doubt it. Several utility companies have already clear our project. The photo shows Action Jerry with my tape measure. I circled the flags so they are easier to see. We replaced the red flags with white, after the 811 page indicated that was necessary. Of course.
I wish I had a date for when construction will begin, though it should be imminent. I have given my plans to Robert, so we may just be awaiting all the reports for the 811 request. I am ready, though I keep thinking 18'x12' is going to be too small. Still, as Autumn pointed out, that would make a pretty sizable bedroom, so it should be fine. I hope so, as the plans have been submitted and approved. We just need to get on with it.
