Post-PC Project

In the spring of 2012, I wrote a grant proposal for thirty new iPads to use in the classroom. After Apple’s education event, I was excited to begin using their new course-creation tools and implementing them in my classes.

For this project, I developed two courses: “eText Authoring” and “Digital Humanities.” The former would learn Apple’s iBooks Author and create their own content. The latter would be supported by iTunes U. Students in each class got their own iPad for the semester.

Both courses went well; my students and I both learned much about digital literacy in the nascent age of mobile computing. I will apply what I have learned in my daily pedagogy, and I will also develop another section of eText Authoring for the fall of 2013.
