My radioactive Japanese M42-mount lens.
My copy of this version 2, Japanese, M42-mount lens was a Goodwill find for $25. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise: in decent shape, sharp, and with a creamy bokeh—all that I had read about. It’s a great nifty-fifty: sharp, fast, and easy to use. The results are lovely, artistic, smile-inducing. I even used this guy for some {{c|Bokeh Panoramas|bokeh panos}} to excellent effect. For anyone getting into vintage lenses, this is an excellent one to begin your Takumar obsession, uh, collection.

Asahi Super Takumar 50mm f/1.4 M42
