Acquired in January 2021 from eBay, this is my Russian-made copy of a Zeiss Jena Biotar. The “M” stands for the mount, in this case M42, and it’s famous for its swirly bokeh, though this later version “fixes” much of that. This copy is in pretty good shape, though the focus ring gets a bit stiff when I focus close. The aperture ring is also stiff, but the clicks between stop are solid—there will be no accidental bumping this ring, as it’s also very close to the camera body.
