A digital, open-source textbook by Gerald R. Lucas.[1]

Foreword

Wdm.jpg

In the age of digital screens when we talk more about consuming media than reading texts, our writing must inevitably adjust. New challenges to communication, interpretation, meaning, and truth reside in the little devices we carry in our pockets. We must develop new strategies for writing that addresses the new reality of the mobile digital device. That is the goal of this text.

Writing.Digital is an on-going digital text to support my current strategies in teaching writing. It is open-source — released more like software than a textbook — free to use for all, and flexible enough to change based on platform developments. I intend to release a version for Kindle, but there will always be a freely accessible version here.
