Poem from Dad

MY APPENDECTOMY*

(A Poem) by
GERALDRADIMER RICHARDAKOLAI LUCASANOVICHSKIZX (Famous Russian Poet)

On a bright, sunny day
In the fall of ’93,
Was the day I had my
Appendectomy.

My belly hurt,
Thought it was gas,
Took Pepto-Bismol,
Hoped it would pass.

Went to a doctor
For some medical tricks,
Got the bad news. . .
“Inflamed appendix.”

To the hospital then,
In a hurry I went.
Once I was there,
Little time was spent.

The time with the surgeon
Is now just a blur,
And a few hours later,
I began to stir.

Puked up my juice,
Which was not very couth,
But it was not my fault—
And that’s the truth!

No appendix have I,
But that's not so sad,
Because I know,
Neither has my Dad.

This is my story.
Its very dear to me—
A poetic tale of my
Appendectomy.

  • Translation = The surgical removal of my vermiform appendix.
