Ride and Shoot

About the time I finished my lunch, I decided I should be out on the BMW R 1200 GS. I texted Giles, and he was game, so we headed west about 2pm toward Thomaston. My foot is still bothering me, but I wanted to muscle through it and see if it would affect my riding. I packed the Pentax 67 📷 (Kodak Portra 400 🎞), the Olympus OM-2N 📷, and the Holga thinking I might use all three. And you know what? I did.

Thomaston was a bust, but we backtracked a bit to Yatesville where they had a couple of photographic possibilities. I used the 67 a couple of times to capture a scene two.

We were soon headed north toward Barnesville on this lovely little two-lane country road. We spent a bit of time in downtown taking some snaps before heading to Forsyth to check out the cemetery we missed last time. I notice how the colors are much nicer when the sun is in back of me, evidenced by the second shot below. Hogh-contrast images don’t work as well either.

I used the Holga (Ilford HP5 Plus 🎞) here and shot 5 frames. Since I discovered how to zone focus with this thing, I experimented a bit. They turned out pretty well.

I have two rolls of 120 and two rolls of 35mm to send to Indie Film Lab tomorrow. There’s another $80. Shooting film is not cheap, but I’ve been pretty pleased with the results. I think I’m getting better with every roll.
