Welcome to my journal.

I’ve decided that social media is probably not good for me—any of us, really. I’m still currently on Instagram, but I think my time there is also limited. I also have an account on Twitter, but I do not use it and find it mostly just a waste of time. I have not been on Facebook in a while; good riddance. However, I do enjoy the idea of social media if not the implementation. I also like the idea of a digital timeline of sorts that those who are close to me or have an interest can delve as deep as they’d like.

Therefore, welcome to my journal. Not a blog. Not a diary. It’s just something that I can record thoughts in on an almost daily basis. It’s about what’s on my mind and what’s not. Maybe Henry will get something out of it someday.

I write about whatever interests me at the time, but seem to come back to several subjects more than others, like: travel, specifically on my BMW R 1200 GS. I also have series of travels to England from 2009 and 2011. My Ph.D. is in literary studies, and I also write about sf, new media (and technoculture), education (especially hacking it, Digital Humanities, and Wikipedia) and writing. If I ever find the time, I may just complete my etextbook Writing.Digital. I often write about Norman Mailer.

Or just peruse my Essays on various subjects, or use the tabs above browse by category. Looking for something specific? Try the search box above.
