Takumar Samples covid-19: day 292 | US: GA | info | act

Again, it’s a dark, cold, rainy day, so of course I received my new Asahi Super-Takumar 55mm f/1.8 M42 lens. I was also expecting the Industar 61 today, but it’s still lost in USPS limbo somewhere—hopefully Monday. Here are the first images I took with the Takumar.

Ooo, this is nice, even wide-open at f/1.8. The bokeh with that extra half-stop from the Helios is definitely noticable. It’s sharp, too, and focuses just under half (.45) of a meter. It’s a bit smaller than the Helios and seems to be a nice sample of this lens. Alas, it came with no caps, so I’ll have to find those somewhere. It think the filter size is 49mm, so I’ll get a filter and caps on Amazon.
