Konica Hexinon 40mm f/1.8 AR

Diminutive in design, ample in scope, the Konica Hexanon 1.8/40 is a little powerhouse. It has a close focus distance of .45 meters and a fairly short focus throw. It’s IQ is nice and not in-your-face: colors behave and bokeh is just on the border of being unruly at medium distances, but it melts into delightful blurs when the subject is closer. Sometimes, the bokeh can resemble Trioplan soap bubbles. The build feels a bit cheap, like it’s more plastic than metal and glass, but the results are very good for this sub-$50 lens.
