Diminutive in design, ample in scope, the Konica Hexanon 1.8/40 is a little powerhouse. It has a close focus distance of .45 meters and a fairly short focus throw. It’s IQ is nice and not in-your-face: colors behave and bokeh is just on the border of being unruly at medium distances, but it melts into delightful blurs when the subject is closer. The build feels a bit cheap, like it’s more plastic than metal and glass, but the results are very good for this under $50 lens.
