I began porting Barry H. Leeds’ The Structured Vision of Norman Mailer on Project Mailer today. I found a book posted to Wikipedia — Wikipedia – The Missing Manual — and used it as a guide. I posted the frontmatter, introduction, and chapter one (on NAD) today. I think it looks pretty great, and it’s about time I’m getting to it. Barry’s daughter Ashley gave me permission to do this back in 2015 after Barry died.
After talking with Mike today, I’m considering applying for a Humanities fellowship at the Harry Ransom Center in Austin to work with some of Norman Mailer’s archive. Since I’m the guy behind Project Mailer, Mike thinks I’m very qualified to go. How cool would that be? My friend and fellow Mailerian did it a couple of years ago, so maybe I’ll pick his brain about it.
I’m not looking forward to the week. I have to write my annual evaluation. Ugh. Can’t I just show them this site? 🤪
